I’m a big fan of ambient music. For decades I have enjoyed the tranquility of atmospheric soundscapes and ethereal melodies that ambient artists create. We’re going to be hosting an ongoing series of ambient concerts starting with Chuck van Zyl, host of the Saturday night/Sunday day morning ambient music radio show called Star’s End on WXPN, and local experimental duo Noite on Friday, October 27. We’ll be doing our best to bring amazing ambient performances to Lancaster, but the more exposure to this kind of music in our area, the better.
So I was thrilled to see a living room concert announced for the 17602 zip code with Lowercase Noises and Steven Kemner. Living room shows are exactly what they sound like. Hosts provide a space, often, but not necessarily a living room, for a very intimate musical experience with a handful of lucky audience members. Lowercase Noises is the musical brainchild of Andy Othling. Andy is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Albuquerque, NM. Steven Kemner is an ambient guitarist who makes up one third of Hotel Neon, based in Philadelphia.
The whole idea is pretty simple. Go here, buy a ticket, get the address, then show up. See you at the show!
